Gunze Sangyo Mazda RX-7 Savanna Racer

This model has been around for many years and has been released in various boxes.
The model itself is a nice kit with a well detailed and accurate body, cabin interior and floorpan. An electric motor and light bulbs for illuminating the head and tail lights are optional, wire and metal fittings are included. Two AA-sized batteries can be hidden in the nose.
Interior comes with racer style dashboard with factory steering wheel, a roll cage, two seats and a center console with shift knob and handbrake lever.
Wheels are wide Speedstar Mk.III alloys fitted with rubber-like racing slicks with raised "Goodyear" lettering.

USAirfix Kit Nr. 8131, Mazda RX-7

released in 1980

box top (9KB) This kit was also reboxed by USAirfix as a street car with fancy striping.
Body was molded in bright yellow, chassis and interior parts were molded in black.
Note that the USAirfix kit comes with dry rub-on decals rather than the usual waterslide type decals. Dry decals may deteriorate (come apart from the backing film and crumble) over time !
