In 2005 and 2006 Takara did some new versions of popular earlier releases, one of these was Cutey Honey, a figure based on a popular anime character.
The original v1 version already lived up to her nickname, the v2 bodied rerelease got a new head sculpt and face paint which to me makes her look even prettier.
The same CG04 head sculpt was also used for Honey Kisaragi (blond hair and violet/blue eyes) and 'Best of CG Princess Jun Shiratori' (green hair and hazel/green eyes) but I like those big brown eyes of Cutey Honey the most.

At first I bought a loose v2 Cutey Honey head from a Chinese vendor on eBay.
When it arrived, the hair-do was a bit messed up, so I decided to put her head on a v1.5 body wearing a CG v2 Harley biker suit, after all wearing a helmet does mess up your hair.
This is the same v1.5 body that I fitted with my first home-made ankle cup before.
At the moment she has a pair of home-made ankle cups: I put Triad bootfeet inside her boots and those have slightly larger (about 0.1mm) ankle balls.
Larger ankle balls will cause the ankle cups to widen so I rather use a pair of home-made ankle cups than risk ruining an original CG ankle cup.

I wasn't certain the first Cutey Honey head I bought was an original one and since I really like the v2 Cutey Honey head, I decided to get another one, this time making sure it was an original Cool Girl head.
I did not care much for getting the original Cutey Honey outfit so I bought a nude v2 Cutey Honey body with head on eBay.
Her face reminds me a bit of Anni-Frid Lyngstad, the red/brown haired singer of ABBA and often when I look at her old ABBA tunes pop up in my head (I was in my teens when ABBA was all over the pop charts), so I named her Melody, afterall "... nothing can capture a heart like Melody can ..." .
Actually the way she looks on the first picture also reminds me a bit of Phoebe Cates (in her 'Gremlins' and 'Drop Dead Fred' days), but I like Melody better as a name than Phoebe.
I could not find any differences between the two Cutey Honey heads with regards to shape, hair or painting and both have the same CG04 code on the back of the head, so I guess the first one is an original one too.

In 2009 Takara released 'Doronjo in CG' using the wide bust 'Type B' v2 body. Before this Takara only used this body type for 'Bloody Rose'. These Doronjo bodies are currently available separately from several sources so I bought one and added another Cutey Honey head (I just can't get enough of those big brown eyes ). The color of the body is slightly darker than the head, actually this is more obvious on the pictures than in real life.
The head is yet another Cutey Honey head I bought off eBay, the hairdo and the expression are again slightly different from the others, this time there's more makeup applied above the eyes, I like the hairdo in particular.
I cut a small piece of foam rubber to fit and fill the gap below her 'rib cage' as it is rather visible under her tight dress. You can see the difference in the next two pictures, the lefthand picture is without the foam, the righthand picture with.
At first Gemma was wearing a pair of Aska boots with black soles, but the pleather was starting to deteriorate so I replaced the boot sleeves with new ones I made myself. I did not have pleather of the same shade of red as Askas boots, but I did have some 'wine metallic' colored pleather so I added a little more shine to her appearance.
I also made her a scarlet pleather jacket so now her clothes have the same colors as the Cutey Honey suit.
Initially I had named her Gina, but then I ran into this picture of British actress and glamour model Gemma Atkinson and noticed quite some resemblance (not just her measurements but also in the shape of the face ). I had decided on Gina as a tribute to beautifully curved Italian women, but it turns out that the name Gemma is also used in Italy, so I decided to rename Gina to Gemma.

Yup, yet another Honey . Initially I assembled her for stretching the creases out of a new pair of pleather pants. I had kept this head apart for a reroot with dark hair, maybe I'll do so later but for now she stands in my display cabinet.
